Rootin' Tootin' Tooting: A Country Music Invasion
Sunday was Country on the Common. For some reason, I wasn’t in the mood, but was persuaded to head there anyway.
It rained on the way, and the downpour was considerably heavier than the forecast had predicted, although it may be only lasted 15 minutes. The Shania Twain tribute act came on stage as we arrived. She was excellent.
But the bar staff in the tent managed to ignore me even though I was standing looking at them, and the beer machine broke. Headliner Noah Reid had withdrawn from the event. I noticed no refund was offered. I was not feeling the country music vibe.
So, we left, and I went to sit in Morden Hall Park for a while, looking at nature before taking a train to look at the river. I ate a pizza in Wimbledon before heading home.
