Fruit Twist

The decorators are still working on the front of the house. PY let them in this morning as I needed to be on the train to the office, but he left them for the day, and they locked up before leaving. They’re doing a great job.

Three colleagues were in the office today from Poland. It was good to catch up with them, but it meant there was a bit of a clash at the end of the day.

We’d had a special non-drinking Ramadan event featuring snacks and soft drinks for a while. That was a great event, and I’ve never seen or eaten bigger or more delicious samosas. I have also never seen this fruit twist Fanta before. To me, Fanta comes in two flavours: orange and lemon, which I enjoy on holiday. So, this was a revelation.

Afterwards, a few of us went to the Defectors Weld in Shepherd’s Bush, where a space had been reserved for socialising with our Polish colleagues, specifically as it’ll be Pk’s last visit. As I was leaving for the train, it got emotional, and he said some lovely things about how I do my job. I’ve worked out who is responsible for the excellent performance review.

Yet again, I missed the last train from Shepherd’s Bush and was then on the wrong side of the green for the bus. So, I called an Uber, which brought me home.
