Now, as I see it......

Up the creek

My birthday today so tonight we are going out to our local Michelin starred restaurant, Meadowsweet, to celebrate.  Quite pricey so reserved for special occasions, but excellent food and walking distance from home.

A lovely day so far.  After opening all my presents we did a 'Zoom' meeting with W's sister and then a friend called round for a cuppa and chat around lunchtime.  We'd had a loose plan to head off to a local steam museum but decided instead to drive to Blakeney for a walk around the salt marsh.  Quite busy with holidaymakers enjoying crabbing and paddling in the water, with some just enjoying the sunny day.  I took this shot of a rather neglected looking boat on the opposite side of the channel but also another through the portholes of the derelict barge on the marsh which I've added as an extra.

A happy day indeed but also slightly poignant as I've now reached the age that my mother was when we lost her.  She had been very ill and died a few days after her birthday, so I have been thinking about her today.  I shall raise a glass to her this evening.
