Light and Shade

We walked down beside the old Church near Ancrum today. There are two ways to cross the river - an elegant but steeply arched bridge, and a ford a little down river. A car came down and used the ford - you can see the wet tyre tracks. Maybe the bridge is too narrow for a modern vehicle.

It was very pleasant down there in the shade of the trees, with the river burbling by. Out in the open, on the track where the remains of the old mill are just about still standing, it was scorching. (Extra)
