Generation Gap

I was up early to finish off and review the work I did last night, before sending it in to a colleague for her to take forward. I then turned off my laptop and got myself ready for the day. This included making sure BB got out of bed.

We then headed up the road to visit my parents again. BB used the journey to educate me in his musical tastes! The journey was relatively smooth, and we made quite good time, we drove through some rain, but it was mostly reasonable weather.

I was surprised to find that my mum and dad and uncle were all ready to be taken out! Surprised, as it is usually like herding cats.

After introducing BB to my uncle from NZ, we had a brief catch up, and made a plan for lunch. We went to a cafe at a farm shop. I had been there before, but quite a long time ago, so had no recollection of how to get there. My dad navigated!

We had to wait on a table, but not too long. I had a very nice bowl of soup, and a very well-filled roll. All very tasty. Our next stop was the shop of a jam factory. I didn’t buy any jam, but did buy some marmalade and chutney, as did my mum. My uncle bought a gift pack for the next set of relatives that he is visiting. They were all bargains.

Our final destination was Auchmithie, a coastal village that I also haven’t visited for years. We wandered down to the shore, and along the beach, admiring the cliffs and cliff formations. The sun was out, and it was very peaceful. BB skimmed stones.

After tea, BB and I said our farewells, and headed back down the road. The journey was going far too smoothly, then we came to a standstill. I assume there was an accident ahead. We made it home much later, and we’re both rather weary.

This is my uncle, my mum, my dad and BB. BB brings the average age down to 72!! The extra is BB on the beach.
