Diary of an Edinburgher

Crab apples

Elizabeth came and took Archie out for a bonus half-walk this morning. I watched tennis - there were two women's matches on, and I checked both before committing - no, there was no screeching in either match. Therefore, watchable. Viewed from on the bike, of course.

JR, after the gym, was busy making things, chopping things, assembling things. Actually, I did help - I'm a dab hand at skewering tasty nibbles. Tell me what's required and I will do a plateful of them in a flash.

Christine and Lesley and Dougal came. They have just been on a Norway cruise, and despite the fairly wet weather, very much enjoyed it all. They used the cruise line we've used twice before, and so we were familiar with all the restaurants etc.

It was sunny and warm, though windy. We sat out in the back garden, which we haven't done for quite a while. Just the day for G&Ts in the sunshine. With tasty nibbles. We had a lovely time. Until Dougal happened to spot the neighbour's CAT looking out of the window. Now Dougal goes absolutely crazy if he sees a cat. And he did! What a noise! As Christine said, the neighbours must think someone is killing a pig! He doesn't bark. He SQUEALS! Having seen it, there was NO WAY he could UNSEE it. So that was the end of the afternoon in garden. But we continued with a coffee inside. What a nice afternoon.

Just watching Wales v France in the Euros. GO! Wales.
