Towards the end of the walk, Derwent Water….

… towards the beginning Bassenthwaite Lake. In between low cloud over the 3 fells bagged today: Ullock Pike, Longside and Carl Side from the Dodds Wood carpark.

A shame as the view from Longside is supposed to be spectacular. I’ll have to take their word. Not for us today! Just saw one of two people looming in and out of the mist.

Enjoyed a preparatory coffee at the Saw Mill cafe before starting and a celebratory pint at the Pheasant at the end.

The weather is forecast to get quite warm here in the next few days, not as warm as further south which is why we did the fells today even though visibility was poor.
