Better than an electric unicycle?
The other picture I took today was of an electric unicycle locked up with the bicycles. Fascinating.
Once upon a time, the US had an emergency response service that knew when bad things were going to happen and where and could set up before the event even happened to help reduce the impact. This service saved lives. It was the sort of thing an effective, modern government provided its citizens.
I had my first dermatologist skin test. She asked why I was in now and I said I am a fired fed, about to lost health insurance, and I want to make sure everything is ok. She was so nice. She said what was done to us was so wrong and so unnecessary, all those children starving.
Now, I will not lose health insurance, I just don’t know that I’ll have good health insurance, but I will have some health insurance.
She also shared how thrilled she was with GLP-1s, all the things they can do, including helping addicts and alcoholics. She said it is as important an advance as statins.
We both hope that we will still have the Maryland Exchange next year, where people can buy health insurance if they aren’t getting it through their employer.
Tomorrow I finally get to lunch with all my company folks who live in the DC area. One of the three has always been busy or away before. But then I have to rush away from them to be interviewed for a podcast about the business. Wish me luck, I’m a little nervous. This whole downfall of USAID thing has me wishing I’d had media training at some point.
