Northey Island

A post work visit to  the island for a guided tour.

The island is owned by the national trust and they have and continue to complete a program of work to slow down erosion and preserve the saltmarsh.

A platform is under construction that, along with 3 sunken and filled barges, will create a new island habitat for birds.

An art installation 'pier' is planned in a location that will, in around a century be under water.

Relocation of water voles is a rather complicated business.

Interesting stuff.  I was glad that I made time to join the talk although it was a very warm evening.
