Hands on
It was the last day of the piano festival today. I went at lunchtime to see the masterclass since I always enjoy listening to these talented young musicians. The standard wasn't quite as high as last year, but we had the added bonus of Gabriel Garcia, who played the Chopin Preludes so wonderfully last year. The Schumann Fantaisie wasn't quite in the same league, but I still enjoyed it. At the end the students always do a fun multi-handed piece, so here they are.
I couldn't be bothered to go to this evening's concert, which as far as I gathered did not involve a piano -- Cuban jazz on flute and percussion. Stayed at home playing with Matisse instead. Of course I bought him some toys, but far and away his favourite is an old fluffy mouse on a string. Mystère wasn't really into playing with toys, he preferred real-life adventures outdoors. But Matisse loves it and is dedicated to its destruction. He has ripped the tail off so far. His second favourite is the black wiggly thing that follows him everywhere, but whips around when he tries to catch it.
