Fiskebäcksbadet
First swim of the year. Finally. It's good to be here. The ocean smells salty and fresh, there are both smooth rocks and a strip of sandy beach, as well as little patches of grass. As someone who has lived on the west coast my entire life I sometimes wonder what it would be like to swim in the Stockholm archipelago. I'm not entirely sure I've tried it?
I've probably mostly seen pictures of it, and you know, I get such unreal feelings about the Stockholm archipelago (the little I know about it). I am used to the smooth but bare cliffs and barren landscapes that the coast on the west side consists of. So how can the east coast manage to have both dainty lawns and straight birches all the way down to the shore? It's both cute and a bit unnerving.
But I'm going to visit the east coast a little later in July together with my partner. To inspect.
Anyway. Sea bathing. The rocks lie shimmering, naked and round, in the sun. I have salt in my hair, and on my skin. I have impressed my child by swimming underwater and up through kiddo’s gigantic swim ring. I have rested on the sun-warmed stone until I have dried off. It has been a lovely day.
