Out in the midday sun

Today was the day for a long-awaited regional get-together of ArtUK  photography volunteers. Luckily for me, it was held in Sheffield. About a dozen of us met up with Tracy, the ArtUK coordinator. The phase of photographing murals is due to finish at the end of August, and I think Tracy has organised a series of regional meetings as a thank-you to volunteers.
Tracy had planned a short(ish) walk in the city centre, with the help of Anna, the Council's Public Art officer (I have been absolutely amazed to discover that we have such a figure, after all these years of cutbacks). Anna took us around a range of murals and other public art initiatives, ending  up with a late lunch at a pizza restaurant.
All this was fine, except that we only started out at midday, and by then the temperature was in the upper 20s.  Even this quite short walk proved surprisingly tiring.  In common with volunteers in many other organisations,  most of us who take photos for ArtUK are fairly long in the tooth. We were flagging a bit at various points along the way.
So it was good, although I came home very hot and tired. I took few photos, and of those, only one or two were worth keeping.  In the main, the group's getting ready to set off; in the extra, Anna's standing by the city's Covid memorial, describing its origins and telling us about one of her own family members who died during the pandemic.
