A long day
In the morning I started a 24 litre brew of Yorkshire bitter. I also used half the wort from a really ancient beer kit so the 24 litres of beer is brewed with wort for 36 litres. I've done this before and it gives a beer with a really strong flavour. I guess it's slightly more alcoholic as well but since I'm not adding any extra sugar I don't think it makes so much difference.
After that was done, + a bit of gardening, we took the campervan to Sundsvall to get the airbag sensor replaced. They are keeping the van overnight so we got to borrow a car.
The next stop was visiting Livia and Roger, arriving with a pile of fresh rhubarb, possible hats and headscarfs for Livia, and some baklava. The picture shows our fika. Our baklava, and Roger's cinnamon buns and coffee.
It felt really good to be there, seeing that they were coping with Livia's diagnosis and then messed up treatment. It was a real mix of emotions; really happy they were doing as well as they are doing, but so sad about the whole situation facing our friends. Followers of Jan (HarlingDarling) will have more information but I'm leaving the more detailed stuff to her! We are hoping it goes well, but are all too aware it could go very badly.
After Livia and Roger's we moved on to Lasse and Annika, with another bag of rhubarb, and with a half dozen litres of home-brewed Czech Pilsner. Lasse and I brewed it together but they have no cellar so I keep it in our cellar and arrive with more beer when the last batch is drunk.
We had a fine evening, chatting about many things but quite a lot about Tai Chi. Lasse is organising the course we do every summer. He also teaches Tai Chi but on this course the wonderful Ulf is the teacher.
The evening went so well the time flew by and before we knew it the clock was heading up towards midnight. (This not getting dark can be very confusing time-wise!)
We got home a bit after midnight, which is why yesterday's blip is arriving today!
