Sgwarnog: In the Field

Pods

The broom pods were crackling all along Baildon Bank making it feel like I was walking through the middle of a fire. Listers Mill on the horizon for the eagle eyed.

I checked out my original Purple Hairstreak tree (scene of my first sighting several years ago), and found five in residence. Quite a good variety of other butterflies, but not great numbers: Large White, Small White, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Small Heath, Speckled Wood, Holly Blue, Green-veined White, Comma on the Bank, and back in the village: Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell and White-letter Hairstreak to add to the list. And a grasshopper (extra).

Later, I went down to the end of year art show at school, where 17yo had a selection of her work on display (extra).
