Red Roses.
The Feast Day of Saint Benedict. Patron saint Of Europe and the Father of monasticism. Also patron of agricultural workers, school children and nettle rash.
I am quite fond of St Benedict as a father figure and have a book called St Benedict's Prayer Book.
I have a few St Benedict medals and I love the exorcism prayer that translates as Get behind me Satan! Or begone Satan!
He was born 2nd March 480 in Nursia Italy. He died 21st March 547 in Monte Cassino, Italy.
I am just having a snack of Marmite toaste and Yorkshire tea.
I have done housework, cleaning, vacuuming, cleared away old jars from the fridge and done the washing. I cleaned the cat bowls and fed Holly and Hunter. I fed Jasper and then filled the watering can which worked well and he ran off home. He doesn't like the sound.
I had to pace myself because it is exhausting in this heat. 27c in the living room with the fan on the lowest setting but it helps alot. 40c or 96f in the conservatory. Far too hot, and that's with windows and door open and ceiling fan whirling round. Paul is sitting in the shade of the Oak tree reading.
I watched Holy Mass from St Marie's Cathedral in Sheffield. It looked beautifully cool inside the stone building. I prayed the Rosary. I will read the papers this afternoon.
5:30pm and it is 30.9c in the living room. 102f in the conservatory.
I want to go butterfly blipping but it would be foolish in the heat, so I am staying indoors until evening . Enjoy today and stay hydrated.
