Lydney Junction
Just after 8am fellow blipper SilverImages arrived at my house and we immediately set off for Ross on Wye town centre (Herefordshire, UK) to Cantilupe Cafe for a small English cooked breakast, toast and coffee to start the day.
It was forecast to be a scorcher, so by 10am we arrived at Lydney Harbour (Gloucestershire) to admire the Severn Estuary views. Most of the boats had departed the harbour on the high tide: Some photo's taken, we drove off in a sweltering car stopping a mile along the road at a deserted Lydney Junction Railway Station. There's just something about bus and train stations that evokes the need to take a photograph and I like the strong shadows, sign and the person that I knew was going to be my 'blip today'.
On the way back to my house, we stopped at St Briavels. The Castle was closed but the ancient church opposite was open for a browse, as was The George Pub (apparently linked by a tunnel to the castle the woman at the castle told me). A pint of cold Lemonade and Lime with ice went down nicely before we arrived back at mine before 2pm.
With Mrs BB working, I made a load of iced coffee to chill and read in the shade. Another great day out in excellent like minded company!
