Shimmering reflections
Mr C had a phone consultation re his pacemaker which is doing fine.
Bad news from cousin Duncan. His son-in-law, not yet 50, has MND. When we saw him in April he could stand/walk etc but now he can’t or even use his hands. So much deterioration in 3 months. Just tragic with him having a disabled daughter as well.
There’s nowhere I can walk from the house that’s flat so I drove to Cragside for opening at 10am and had a walk round Nelly’s Moss lakes. Only 1.5 miles of level path and it was a real struggle with pain. Here’s a pic from the walk.
This afternoon Carol came up to sit in the garden where it was 28 in the shade on the north side of the house. She needs a distraction from worrying about Phil’s cancer op on Wednesday. It’s going to be keyhole which sounds positive.
Mr C is not allowed to eat fibre, muesli, fruit or anything with seeds till after his procedures on Monday. Most of my cooking seems to include healthy foods which are banned.
Our family humour became increasingly black instigated by #1 daughter when she was ill. Last night it took a turn for the worse. There was an item on the news about a rugby player playing with a stoma bag. I remarked to Mr C that it would deter the opposition from tackling him. He laughed lots.
