Cleome aka Spiny Spiderflower
Thankfully, Momma slept in until 8:30 this morning. I made her breakfast and she started picking more crab claws. After my breakfast, I used the meat to make up six crab cakes. It’s been years since I did that. We had some for lunch and I froze two for our camping trip. Hubby got rid of our trash and recycling and cut the grass in the formal garden. These volunteer spider flowers really brighten up the front garden. The nice rain storms and our sprinklers have been good to them. The fountain gets hidden though. After lunch, the whole crew is ready for a nap. My pork is cooking in the crock pot with German hunter’s sauce. Will make potatoes, sautéed cabbage, applesauce and garden tomatoes for dinner. Easy meal. It has been especially calming to be home all day. The raised toilet seat with balancing handles and aluminum walker my sister and BIL found in a closet at Momma’s has been a Godsend. She has regained her independence in that department. As I told them, we are in a trial and error period. They may encounter a few lessons learned next week as well. I am very blessed to have this opportunity to give back. Wishing everyone a blessed weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. Hope to find time this evening to read your journals. But must nap first… “The flowers you see blooming in the sunshine were once hidden seeds waiting patiently for the rain.” - Christy Ann Martine
