Stavanger #1
Welcome to Stavanger in Norway! Mrs CBL and I are spending a long weekend in the city. The flight from Aberdeen took 50 minutes!
Here are a few facts about Stavanger …
It is Norway’s third largest city after Oslo and Bergen.
It is the ‘capital’ of the country’s very lucrative Oil and Gas Industry.
It boasts a well-preserved old town.
It is a founder member of the NuArt/Street Art movement in Europe.
It hosts the country’s largest annual food festival.
Today the temperature was 24°C making it Stavanger’s hottest day of the year so far. Tomorrow promises to be just as hot! Two sunny days in a row is a rarity for Stavanger, one of the wettest cities in Europe!
Our hotel is in the harbour area and that’s where we explored today. Some more photos of the area are in the extras.
Best viewed in the large setting.
