In The Shade

This morning Shawn dropped by to plant my lavender out front and some grasses out back....cute little yellowy-green grasses to brighten the shady area of the garden behind the carport. He had them dotted all along the border edge of the garden which is mostly filled with big hostas and ferns.  

I asked him about these grasses..Like, will they grow up to be cute little round mounds of light or stay like the cute little spidery things they are? Well no, neither...they will grow quite tall. Say what? But won't they eventually block off all the plants behind them? When they do, we will move the plants around. Really? Well, yes. Gardening is moving plants around. It is? Do you mean this garden will never be finished? We will always be moving things around?  Yes. 

Uh oh....it seems that gardening never ends...and I'm in this for the long haul?  I guess I had better start working on a gardening budget!   

PS: disappointing news. I won't be going to the cottage tomorrow. Long story. Another episode in the never-ending BP saga...My BP is still too low despite another cutback in meds a week ago and I am still not feeling any better. I called my doctor today. He reduced my meds again and said "No Cottage! Rest and see me in the office on Monday" I will gladly do that.The cottage will have to wait...We have to get this BP thing "sorted"!
