Simone de Beauvoir

I was a big fan of hers at university, and loved this book (as well as the Second Sex & other novels). Saw it a few weeks ago in a secondhand bookshop & thought I'd give it a go. It does still work for me. I realise that I was very ignorant of the post-war situation in France when I first read it, and that all made a lot more sense to me now, and I am impressed at how she captures those first weeks, literally, after the end of the war. Surprisingly (or maybe not), I find I had more patience when I was younger. At 736 pages, it's quite a tome and right now I'm racing a bit to get it done..
Tennis tennis tennis, soon it'll all be over and normal life will return..
