Packing
We don't have to leave till after lunch which is unusual and actually very pleasant. Though my sister and BiL are slogging up the M6 as I blip which I imagine is actually very unpleasant.
The point of this holiday is to celebrate all the June family birthdays and especially our daughter's which was a milestone. By this evening we should all be safely in the one place.
It will be a bit cooler as we will be near the coast. I will be grateful for that. The car is packed to bursting. I made a cake this morning which has to be assembled once we arrive. It looks a bit flat but cream and lots of locally grown soft fruit will sort that. It's just as well it isn't a long journey because people and a dog are going to be squished.
The blip is my binoculars which I think are going to come in very handy.
Two kind neighbours are looking after the house and the garden so I'm trying to leave both in good order.
I know I won't have blip time later so apologies in advance.
I have some great news about Equi-power. A team of vaulters and riders is at the RDA National Championships at Hartpury in Gloucestershire. Yesterday the vaulters won team gold and two members of the team were placed senior champion and junior champion. It's absolutely brilliant for our first time at this competition and all the team, including the horses, has done an exceptional job. It's Countryside Challenge and Dressage today. It is so hot that the horse and human mitigations are being meticulously employed.
Hartpury brings back many happy (and baking hot) memories for me. My daughter rode there three times and in 2013 was overall national champion. This is what paved her way to the World Games in Los Angeles in 2015.
