Today Le Tour started in town today, so we went down to see what we could. The plan was sound on paper but didn't quite work out. We had a look at some of the animations, but waiting to see the cyclists come out of their buses was spoilt by all the rich people milling about looking bored - even though we waited nearly two hours in the sun we barely saw anything because there was always someone in the way. More frustratingly most of those with VIP passes looked utterly bored and weren't even paying any attention to what was going on...

The extra is another shot of G being interviewed (sorry about the shade), and the yellow jersey cycling off to the signing in. One of his team mates did sign a picture a fan had brought with him - which I thought was nice of him.

After watching them depart we got on our bikes to beat them, so we could take a picture of them passing. We knew the route so took a much more direct route and we had a 10 minute head start. We also knew that the first section was just a slow roll out, so they wouldn't be going too fast. I got one good picture of the front of the race, but then my battery died!
