Swan family
I chickened out from going to the allotment - even early on it was too damned hot for me (probably for the plants too, but they're tougher than me!). Scuttled across to the market for the usual supplies then headed back. The swan family was out and about on the WoL - seen here approaching some guys who were maybe throwing them bread crusts. Not ideal, but hey-ho. Still 9 cygnets. Managed to do some indoor chores - tried making a wee bit of redcurrant jelly (can't think what else to do with them). Have left them to drip in a muslin bag - we'll see. Also cleaned a window.
There was very good news from Inchcolm; the missus of D's colleague Jamie having been in labour for approx 48 hours (in this heat, poor woman) has brought forth a lovely wee feller who's called Theodore. Well not that wee - 4 kg! And the crowdfunder for DG's legal fees passed £11000 less than 24 hours since it was launched yesterday!
D having a torrid day of it on the island though - 7 boat loads of visitors, a wedding, a stand-in colleague for the absent Jamie, and they were certain sure to run out of ice creams during the day. I promised that I would visit him in prison if he ended up killing someone......
