You might be forgiven...

...for thinking this is a Springtime photo, especially given the roasting temperatures we're having here.  Our garden faces North and either side of the conservatory which juts out, we have two shady and fairly enclosed areas.  They don't get much sun but are perfect for growing tubs of hostas, ferns and cyclamen, all clustered around the bird bath (see extra). 

I have been paying attention to feeding my plants periodically this year and it seems to have paid off.  This fern has nearly doubled in size from last year and is still sending up new shoots.

I thought a 'cool' type image might make you feel less frazzled by the heat, although, we have had a cooling breeze today which has been very refreshing.
