A Surprise Visitor
I walked with B (Bom), JohnRH & W, this morning, a favourite walk around the Bayfield Estate in the Glaven Valley. It was warm and sunny although it clouded over a little towards the end. I decided that I wanted to 'travel light' so I didn't take my camera with me, so I wasn't expecting to have anything suitable to blip today. We stopped at the Glaven Bistro for coffee afterwards (whoever thought of iced coffee is a genius!).
M and I were opening up the summerhouse for our lunch when I got home when this beautiful hummingbird hawk moth decided to visit my potted geraniums. Of course my camera was back inside the house. I dashed in to get it and happily it was still feeding on the flowers when I returned. This is only the second time I've ever seen one in our garden and last time I was just focusing my camera when it flew off. So I was especially pleased to capture it this time, albeit a rather hasty shot.
We actually had the tiniest amount of very fine rain this afternoon, hardly enough to dampen the pavement...more needed please!
