Wells-Next-the-Sea at High Tide

H and drove to Wells this morning as I wanted to view a photographic exhibition at the Maltings showing some wonderful photos by Linda Gower, who has just joined our U3A Digital Photo Group.  Very good it was too.

Before that, we parked in Wells and walked along the side of the harbour, as you can see the tide was in.  We stopped at the beach cafe and had a delicious bacon bap and a coffee.  There were a lot of families enjoying the beach but we soon left them and walked through the dunes (see extra) to Holkham Gap.  It was good to see more sea lavender in bloom.  We returned along the wooded path.  We were rather warm by then so cooled off with a delicious Ronaldo's locally made ice-cream (apple crumble flavour for me), watching the world go by from the comfort of a harbour seat.

The weather has been a mix today, it was cloudy a lot of the time but we also had prolonged spells of warm sunshine.  We had the 'do we/don't we take a waterproof' dilemma as there was a 40% chance of rain, but happily, it stayed dry.
