Yes , today is our heatwave. I know some of you think that is not a heatwave but believe you me if you live in Scotland anything above 24C is a heatwave. At least I think so.
 
We had some Indian visitors some time back and they asked why there were no air conditioning units attached to all the houses.
 
“Air conditioning`?” we laughed at the idea and assure them that  was the last thing we needed in the UK. Well, that was 20 years ago.
 
One friend “down south “already has it installed and another is thinking about it.
All day there has been an eerie silence in the glen,not even the two rescue Alsatians down the road, with razor sharp hearing , barked.
 
It took me some time to fathom out what was different: the birds were silent.
