And you thought it was hot outside today!
Another scorcher. Another work day at Aber Cafe. Tucked under the north facing high, craggy, hillside, it's in the shade until midday, just a little cooler than elsewhere and with a gentle breeze down the narrow valley. By the end of the afternoon however the thermometer in the car showed 29C. Not a busy day but steady, with ice creams and chilled drinks much in demand. The loco crews reported that it was ok when the train is in motion but standing on the footplate during their tea break it was roasting!
After work I had a long snooze before a late tea. Then after sunset a walk with Meg near the estuary where we found a tribe of camper vans, fortunately soon left behind on our walk. Cooler then but still too warm. I'm now sitting indoors with the lights our and the windows open, the cooling breeze blowing through.
