The Spirit of Peanut

We brought home character #18 to our community of garden characters. Of course it had to be a kitty. This one we named the Spirit of Peanut. The little one to the right is one we brought home last year, and Peanut loved it. She stopped by it, wrestled, hugged, and mugged with it. She recognized its cat features, and treated it like one of her own. These two will stay by each other the whole time, even in the dark, cold days inside the potting shed in the winter.

If a cat could mingle at the Oregon Country Fair, Peanut would have been the cat to do it. She was a Merry Prankster, akin to the mischievous, loving spirit that guides the Fair. She would have swatted the ankles of those walking the trails, then rolled on her back, and said, “Just kidding. Welcome home. Happy Fair.”

We welcome her spirit home in this garden community form, and we know she is right here with us.
