Family triathlon

Spent the day cheering on my family who had entered the Tavistock triathlon.
It was my sister's first triathlon, at the age of 65. She completed the sprint distance, 400 m swim, 18 km cycle and 5.4 km run.
My niece did the Olympic distance 800 m swim, 36 km cycle and 10 km run.
My grand niece, who turned 10 this year, swam 100 m, cycled 1.6 km and ran 1.2 km.
The weather was ridiculously hot.
My niece was 2nd lady in the vets category (over 35), and my grand niece was joint first.
I was in awe of them all.
