Stonehaven
To finish off our impromptu weekend away, we stopped off in Stonehaven on the way home. We had a hugely dissapointing breakfast in 'Books and Beans' on Aberdeen - normally food in a bookshop is a winner. Not so here. The less said about it the better.
Stonehave was busy with a folk festival, plus lots of people heading to the outdoor heated pool. It was lovely wandering around and hearing music about - highlight was what seemed to be a group of locals sat playing outside what looked like their house. We had a brief paddle and took a walk up the cliffs to get a view of Dunotter castle then headed back into town for some much needed water and to watch the local mandolin 'choir'.
For a second stop on the way home, we popped it at the Cairn O'Mohr winery to pick up a bottle of mum's favourite bramble for her visit soon. Plus P game away with a bottle of gorse.
Pretty glad we went away for the weekend as it was much cooler up north, especially with the sea breeze and the haar. Felt like a nice wee break.
Blip is one of the sculptures along the path at Stonehaven.
