Pulling Pints
Happy Birthday to Lucy, my #1 daughter, born 58 years ago in the British Military Hospital, Kowloon, Hong Kong, where the temperature was probably much the same that day as it has been here in Shropshire, but with a little more humidity.
We had celebrations last evening but with no cake, so this morning I put that right and made a chocolate sponge topped with Mary Berry's chocolate ganache icing, strawberries, maltezers and candles. Lucy had kindly stepped in to do a shift as barmaid in our local pub, so we surprised her with it to be enjoyed (hopefully) by her, her colleagues and the locals after her shift had finished.
Once home Mr HB and I settled down to watch the Wimbledon Mens' final, and what a great match it was with a worthy winner, but I still felt sorry for Alcatraz.
I'll be having Wimbledon withdrawals tomorrow!
