Approaching Iceland
Today was another day of travelling.
The morning was quiet and I stuffed (carefully repacked) my main suitcase. To my delight it weighed in at 21kg so no problems with extra weight. (I have no idea how much the camera backpack weighed but I struggled to carry it.)
I sat next to a German who is enjoying his retirement travelling and walking. He recently completed the West Highland Way.
We had to go on buses to the terminal, then walk for ages on two different levels of the airport. It seemed quite unnecessary. The baggage had still not arrived but it did.
Then on the Skybus for a slow drive to the capital. THEN a second bus dropping off people at hotels. THEN a long queue to check in.
I had to shower before going to meet the group. I was only 5 minutes late.
We are Mike, Frank, Laurence, Simone and me with our tutor, Andy. We ate out at a splendid restaurant this evening.
Now I need to pack for tomorrow when we will be using our cameras as well as driving for a few hours.
It all sounds very exciting and a bit daunting!
