The Rhine Cycle Path, Day Twelve:

We wandered down to Museumsplein nice and early – pausing only for coffee and croissants to fortify ourselves – and then spent several happy hours in the Rijksmuseum. Afterwards we did a bit more wandering, drank more coffee, risked a crossing of Dam Square and bought some shorts from Uniqlo. In the evening we went to Snob for burgers and then to the cinema – the marvellous Pathe Tuschinski, to be precise, a fully-restored 1920’s art deco picture palace, absolutely fabulous. Brad Pitt in ‘F1’ wasn’t quite up to its surroundings but it was a perfectly entertaining way to spend a couple of hours…
