Washing done and out on the line first thing, then I had a nice catch up with my sister A. Later in the morning I had someone round from Nationwide Home Innovations to advise me, measure up and quote for an external sun screen to cover my large patio doors that are in the sun for nine hours a day in June. The screens operate via remote control and 'create an effective thermal heat barrier' whilst allowing some visibility out to the garden. The blind will also cost me just over £3k! I've tried various solutions over the years, but this would stop the UV getting in in the first place and would be cheaper and more effective than an awning. I said I'd think about it, but with three heatwaves so far this year I'll have to think seriously. This afternoon I did the ironing whilst watching the second part of the Live Aid concert, which I really enjoyed. After the last seven weeks of tennis, it was odd having none to watch today. A shame that Alcaraz wasn't on top form yesterday and at times could barely get a first serve in, but Sinner was on superb form. I'm not happy though, that both ladies and men's champions had served a ban during the last year for a banned drug showing up on a test - lenient bans based on their explanations of how it ended up there by accident.
