Cairo, Day 3, Saturday

Reduced breakfast in hotel after the buffet we got the other morning!

We then met N, my ex-colleague for all those years when I worked in CELTAs here. We also shared the big British Council flat, which was blipped many times. Good to catch up in Cooq on the Nile and have a late brunch.

Ayman then whisked us away to meet 25 year old Yasheen (Hazem is his real name) and his 5 year old son, Omar. Really lovely to spend time with them, have some tea in a cafe on the Nile, and so helpful to have Ayman translating. Hazem seems to be an attentive father, doing his very best for his son in difficult circumstances. See Bb’s blip for more of the story. We do what we can.

I think that’s me almost caught up with the Cairo blips now, apart from today.
