Were trying to get birds used to going to our reflection pool so we bait it with a bit of seed. Ideally we need the hide set up at the end of it and sit waiting. By the time I see them from the window, like this, and go round the end of the house, they've gone!
This morning we responded to an offer from a villager on Facebook. She had sowed a lot of seeds of ox-eye daisies and had ended up with more than she needed for her own wildflower meadow. It turned out to be a lady I knew from exercise class, a lady I had given some quaking grass seeds to many years ago. I have now promised her some wild orchids.
We were standing chatting beside her potting shed when the heavens opened. How it poured as we sheltered!
