Stone. Silence. No difference
Does the Buddha watch the garden…or does the garden watch the Buddha?
This head of Buddha occupies a quiet corner in our Zen Garden.
( That sounds rather grand. We have attempted our version of it. )
Its most unlikely to be one of the 500 heads from the Borobudur Buddhist temple in Java , the largest in the world, from 830 AD, instead a stone replica made for the tourist trade.
We acquired it during one of our trips to Wales many years ago from the local architectural salvage company near Crickhowell .
Thanks to Jakzero for hosting MonoMonday challenge “stone.”
