Visitor from the US

Settled in at Kingsbury Water Park and actually didn’t get up until after 9 am - latest in the whole trip since we’ve been here. After breakfast we were happy to hear Dan was coming out to spend the day with us and was able to see our UK living quarters for the first time.

I was glued to the cricket while doing my usual BG work but I also had to complete the payroll process, which was a little more complex than usual. The cricket was super tense but somehow we managed to win with only a handful of runs required for India to beat us instead. One of the staff members on the site here proved to be extraordinarily attentive. We have been here before on a couple of occasions but it was a year ago that we were last here - however when I bumped into her when checking on the laundry queue(see bgleyna’s blip) she immediately asked me if we were over again from the US. I don’t know how many people must have visited this site in the last year but for some reason she knew exactly who we were. When Paul and Felicity turned up to pick up Dan we decided to eat out together and as we walked out this same person called out to warn us not to go to the Dog and Doublet because they have no chef there tonight. How did she know we were going out to eat?? We decided she must have some kind of magic power or discernment - but it was very touching to be remembered like that.

Lovely meal out at The White Horse with the three of them with some good Wilson corny jokes from Paul and interesting back and forth. Unexpected end to the day but much appreciated.
