Horreo
Shipped stone by stone across the Atlantic and reassembled here in the sculpture garden at the Albuquerque Museum of Art. Horreos are seen along the Camino de Santiago. Made of stone or wood, the original purpose was to store feed for the animals, raised off the ground to keep the rodents away. Today they are a symbol of Galicia. In honor of blipper Fuentes who has shown us many a fine horreo in its native habitat.
~ Stone and steel fountain also at the Museum of Art.
Thank you, JZ, for hosting Mono Monday: Stone
