Our first view…
Of Lake Annecy, our home for the next three nights.
I knew our route was going to take us through Switzerland but I hadn’t realised that as soon as we crossed the river in Strasbourg, the Rhine, we entered Germany. So we travelled through three countries in one day.
We arrived at our apartment at 2:30 and was met by the lovely owner who showed us where and what everything is. After unloading and having a home made pasta for supper we took a wander to discover the lake. We are two streets away and this was our first view as we came out onto the esplanade. Wow!
We had a little walk around the town that was heaving with people. It’s bank holiday weekend here for Bastille Day on Monday.
(My cold was in full flow…if you pardon the pun, and I really wasn’t feeling great. I’m also very grateful that Mr C has done all the driving so far. As a back blip I can say that I think the cold has almost gone but it certainly zapped my energy for the first few days of our hols. Fingers crossed for the remaining time).
If you have similar humour to Mr C and I, you may find the extra road signs we found on our journey give you a giggle.
