Fancy Francy
An average day today, a gardening sort of day! Spent a lot of the time outside, beginning with pruning hazels down by the roadside. There are just too many of them, planted by the local squirrels I imagine! I didn’t do as much as I wanted to as various joints began shouting at me, but it’s a start!
Did some weeding along the back of the house, though it should be the front, except that the front door is at the back! Confused? No need to be! Later on I was standing by the table on the deck, potting a couple of seedlings that I’d accidentally pulled up, when a tiny red squirrel came running along the deck fence and plopped on to the table. We’ve been watching him for the last few days. He seemed quite unconcerned and just sat there, no more than six feet away, while I chatted to him. If only I’d had my camera there! I told him to wait while I popped indoors for it, but when I came back he was gone.
It would have been a great Blip, but instead I had to have another flower picture. This is one of the bedding plants I bought last month, a Calibrachoa. Seriously, if you had produced a new variety of the plant and thought it worth marketing, would you really have called it Calibrachoa Can Can ‘Fancy Francy’ ? I don’t think so!
Weeded the row of pots above where we park the car, then brought up some leaf mould from the garage to top dress them. At this point MrsM came home so I tidied up and came in to make a cuppa, thinking I would sit out on the deck for a while. Then it began to rain lightly! An average day.
