Shadey
It’s been a cracking couple of days, but I was keen to get up and away early doors to beat the traffic on the way home.
It was clearly the right decision, as the journey home was a breeze and I still had plenty of the day to get my gear stowed and tidied up.
With plenty of time in advance of the Wimbledon final and conscious of the truly heroic amount of alcohol and meat I had consumed over the weekend, a walk seemed like a good idea.
Had it not been for the soaring temperatures it would indeed have been an excellent idea, but despite cooking it was lovely to see children out and playing in the river. Strangely for such a lovely day, the children playground was empty - I assume that this was as a direct result of the playground equipment reaching temperatures hotter than the sun itself!
I was taken with the sight of this couple reading their books (not screens or kindles) in the shade of a tree, which is just about one of the loveliest things you can do on a hot, sunny day.
Well, that and hang out with some nice people watching Sinner and Alcaraz going at it on the tennis court.
