Gumap and Gudbru

My narrow Wide Wednesday blip today was taken at the launch of a sculpture by Nyoongar artist Brett Nannup. It is installed in the expansive entry of the ‘No 9 the Esplanade’ building at Elizabeth Quay. The form  is based in The Dreaming story of two brothers who were turned into seals by the trickster moon. The shape and carved markings of the anodised aluminium sculpture link to traditional Nyoongar culture, stories and histories. More detail on the plaque in my extra (sorry about the reflective text).
