Collection

Each scallop shell is the size of a fingernail or smaller. Very delicate.

They were collected on the beach on the island of Mingulay, the second most southerly island in the Western Isles. We took a boat tour out there in the morning, returning via the cliffs on the west side in the afternoon. It was the perfect day for it - see the extras. Saw loads of puffins, guillemots and other seabirds but didn't have a camera capable of doing them justice.

After dinner, we popped along to sit outside the local hotel bar in our t-shirts in the sun. A fine end to the day.
