Hike Number One

Neither of us could sleep after sunrise. We ate a quick breakfast and suited up for our first hike. It actually cannot be called a hike, at my speed, it was more a meander. The total distance was 2.28 miles. I was amazed I could go that far with the fasciitis and my knees. Hubby is very patient. Part of my slowness was looking for interesting nature items. I think you will find the results were not bad. The wildflower selection is pitiful at the moment. I have tons more fungi shots but chose the most unique ones. There are rivulets everywhere of rainwater heading to the Swift Creek Lake and adjoining bodies of water. And yes, there is a river that could have overflowed during the storm but it is well below us. Here is an explanation from Seek of the collage going from left to right in each row:
Naked-flower Tick-trefoil
Amanita
Pinesap
St. Andrew’s cross
Sternum
Rushing water
Hubby on trail
Snow fungus
Common elephant’s foot
Red chanterelle
Lynx paw oyster
Southern lady fern
We came back to the camper, I prepped the meat and veggies for lunch while hubby showered; he cooked while I took mine. I was quite ready for a nap after cleaning up from lunch. I iced the heel first though. Hubby rode his e-bike a little more than four miles on one of the biking trails. The biking trail near where we hiked was closed this morning but his wasn’t. I foresee Kindle and blip journals are on the menu tonight with maybe a baked chicken wrap in there somewhere. Wishing you a serene evening. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting.
