A good day.
I've been meaning to get back into a regular swimming routine, not having visited a pool since sometime last autumn I think. Today I'd booked a swim at Hathersage pool, knowing that visiting this beautiful heated outdoor pool would give me a good incentive to get going. The pool dates back to the 1930s, though it's had some updating since (not least the heated water, which means it can be used all year round, by the determined... ). No pool photos, however, as these aren't allowed any more... not like when Ruth and Jack were growing up; I have many images of them at the pool, from those days.
Later I met Eben and Luca from school. In both cases they had a 'transition day' today, spending time in the classrooms they'll be in next year - year 1 for Luca, year 5 for Eben.
Both boys are looking tired, in this final week of school, as is Ruth.
After school, Eben went off to play with a friend across the road. Ruth and I had a cup of tea and a fragmented chat. But really Luca needed all her attention, especially as he wanted to play on the Nintendo Switch. Eben is the expert on this new family acquisition. In his absence, Ruth and Luca had to figure out some details, and I left them to it.
