Diamond Beach
It’s been a funny old day.
We woke to dense mist and cooler temperatures.
Instead of driving to the Vestrahorn this morning, we went to a different glacial lagoon with icebergs. It was hard for the camera to distinguish between the icebergs and the mist!
I enjoyed the wildflowers. I saw the one flowered fleabane, apparently native to the far north. There was a lot of alpine alchemilla, heath bedstraw, thyme, and sea plantain. It was remarkably similar to Upper Teesdale in many ways.
We revisited the diamond beach. The tide was receding which made it easier to do some slow motion images. It remained misty, so there was a lack of contrast.
We then drove to see the Vestrahorn. That was over an hour’s drive. Although we stayed for 3 hours, the mist stubbornly refused to lift. There was an occasional teaser as the clouds parted slightly. See extra!
So, the weather was not on our side, but it did not rain, snow or blow us away.
My right welly leaked, but I have waterproof socks to deploy on such an occasion.
It was a good day.
