Changing weather

It was another warm cloudy day.  I spent the morning at home and in the afternoon went down to the allotment.  After an hours weeding and still the strawberry patch wasn't finished, I decided to water the allotment.  The ground is so dry and none of the forecast rain had materialised.

Early evening just after we left to meet up with friends at a pub in Exmouth it started to rain.  I thought this would be just a few drops but it continued.  Fortunately I had a light jacket with a hood in my bag but my husband didn't.  He got rather wet as we quickly walked across the road to the pub.  There was no room inside the pub as it was a quiz evening so we ended up outside in a covered area of the garden.  Luckily they had an external heater there so my husband sat close to it and dried up quickly.  An entertaining evening.  It had just stopped raining by the time we left so the area has at last received a decent amount of rain.

Today's photo is of a scene looking towards Sidmouth where I noticed this low cloud or smoke drifting in.  About an hour later there was a small fire in the nearby fields near us, in the valley so we couldn't see what was happening but thankfully it eventually stopped.  If it was caused by dry grasses then they have been well watered now.
